Dr. Gunasekara provides a range of Interventional Cardiology services in addition to Adult General Cardiology. His expertise includes Complex Coronary Intervention; Rotational atherectomy, chronic total occlusion intervention, Peripheral Vascular Intervention and Percutaneous Therapy for structural and valvular heart disease. He performs coronary angiography and intervention via radial artery approach. Dr. Gunasekara graduated from the University of Queensland. After completing his general cardiology training, he further trained in Interventional Cardiology at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. In 2008 he further developed his interest and expertise in Interventional Cardiology; endovascular procedures; and structural heart disease at the prestigious Mount Sinai Cardiovascular Institute in New York, USA under the mentorship of Prof. Samin Sharma.
