Profile
Dr Wong is a passionate interventional cardiologist who specialises in coronary angioplasty and stenting. He is also skilled in general cardiology with a special interest in cardiac risk reduction, hypertension and dyslipidaemia. He graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 2002, and then obtained a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatics from the University of Newcastle in 2005. He subsequently completed his specialist cardiology training at Prince of Wales and St George hospitals in 2010 before embarking on post-graduate research endeavours (PhD) in lipidology at the University of Sydney. From 2015-17 he undertook two years of interventional cardiology fellowship at the presitigious University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Canada (the highest volume centres for coronary stenting in North America and Canada), where he accrued over 1,000 percutaneous coronary stenting procedures. He is the founder of Sydney Specialists Centre. Dr Wong enjoys travelling and is an avid photographer. He also enjoys building his own computers and websites.
Research
Dr Wong has particular interest in interventional cardiology, lipid biology, vascular biology and preventative cardiology.
