Subspecialty Interests: Interventional Radiology, particularly Gynaecological and Oncological Intervention
Dr Liang graduated from UNSW in Sydney and received his diagnostic and interventional radiology training in Hong Kong. He founded Sydney Interventional Radiology and Sydney Fibroid Clinic.
He has clinical and research interests in gynaecological interventions such as embolisation for fibroids, adenomyosis and pelvic congestion syndrome. He works closely with gynaecologists, focusing on uterine sparing treatment options for women with fibroids and adenomyosis.
Research
Dr Liang's case series on UAE for fibroids and adenomyosis was published in ANZJOG in 2012, 2018 and 2021. In 2021 he published a book entitled "Could It Be Adenomyosis? The bad cousin of Endometriosis: An Unsuspected Cause of Heavy Painful Periods". In 2024 he published his "keep-it-simple" embolisation approach to treat pelvic congestion syndrome in JMIRO.
