Profile
Dr Imogen Patterson is a Urological Surgeon, specialising in oncology, BPH, renal lithiasis, and laparoscopic surgery. Dr Patterson is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Prior to her career in surgery, Dr Patterson studied at the Australian Defence Force Academy, and graduated from the Royal Military College - Duntroon, serving in Signals Corps.
After completing her medical degree at the University of Queensland, she completed two years of basic surgical training followed by specialty training under the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ). Dr Patterson completed a fellowship in Renal Transplantation at The John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, NSW and has worked in Qld for many years before returning to Sydney with her family.
She offers expert surgical advice and practice in the fields of prostate pathology including prostate cancer, renal calculi,
bladder and renal malignancy. Having trained in minimally invasive endourology, she can offer the latest surgical treatments including laser stone, prostate management, and laparoscopic surgery.
She continues as a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and is committed to ongoing professional development to maintain her practice at the forefront of technology and research, and is a Committee Member of the Innovators' Section of the International Urology Society (SIU).
The aim of Imogen's practice is to provide her patients with compassionate, evidence based and individualised treatment plans.
Research
Dr Patterson has numerous peer-reviewed publications in urological literatures and has presented at several international urology conferences. She continues to support urology research as a investigator and reviewer.
