Profile
James Younessi is an Oral and Maxilla-Facial surgeon in private rooms in Hornsby. He obtained his qualifications in pathology and dentistry from the University of Melbourne before post graduate training at Westmead Hospital in Oral and Maxilla-Facial surgery. He completed his Master's qualification whilst a Registrar at Western Sydney Hospitals, gaining valuable expertise in pain management and pharmacology of local anaesthetics. He has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Ireland. He operates at Sydney Adventist Hospital and the San Day Surgery at Hornsby and practices the full scope of his surgical discipline.
Research
Dr Younessi has specific interests in Trauma, Dento-Alveolar Surgery, Facial Reconstructive Surgery, Implant Surgery, Oral Pathology and Benign Salivary Gland Pathology. Outside his surgical craft, he is an accomplished essayist, researcher, radio-presenter and author. He has published four books thus far, which have enjoyed considerable success and have been the subject of newspaper articles and radio interviews. He has authored scientific articles and is a peer reviewer for surgical journals.
