Profile
Dr Joe Chang is an experienced radiation oncologist who is committed to delivering evidence-based and patient-centred cancer care. His honest and engaging approach to communication with his patients and their loved ones ensures they are well-informed throughout treatment and beyond.
He completed specialist radiation oncology training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and undertook a one-year clinical fellowship in stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) and intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada. In 2015, he was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Dr Chang enjoys a mixture of clinical work, contributing to leading publications and chairing the Sydney SABR Consortium and Liverpool Hospital Central Nervous System Tumour Multidisciplinary Meeting.
Dr Chang accepts referrals for all cancer types with a special clinical interest in genitourinary, brain and spinal (CNS), lung, skin cancers and sarcoma.
He is a member of several leading cancer trial groups and has been awarded several prizes for his clinical research including the RANZCR Bourne and Langlands Prize (2015). Dr Chang can converse in English and Mandarin, and looks forward to supporting patients in a language they are familiar with.
