Dr Wood completed medical school in 1991 from UNSW and gained 10 years experience in emergency and intensive care medicine. He has worked in O & G at King George V Memorial Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital as well as Darwin and Salisbury in the UK. Dr Wood considers it is a privilege to help many couples bring their babies into the world. He enjoys helping mothers of multiple gestations (twins etc), and all other aspects of high risk obstetrics. He particularly values the continuity of care he has with each patient, and helping couples deliver their babies in a positive happy environment. He feels it is also important to involve each patient in the decision making process, particularly if intervention is required. His interests in gynaecology include assisting women who have suffered pregnancy losses, Pap smear problems, irregular or heavy periods, sexual dysfunction and other general gynaecological issues. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is often fraught with emotions and Dr Wood likes to offer his patients support, both physically and emotionally.
