Profile

Associate Professor Hogg is a Gynaecologist and Gynaecologic Oncologist. In addition to a Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology he has completed three years of advanced training in the treatment of gynaecological cancer. This provided him with additional expertise in bowel, urinary tract and laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of gynaecological conditions. Associate Professor Hogg is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is an accredited specialist in Gynaecological Oncology. As well as an area wide appointment at the Sydney West Area Health Service, he consults with Specialist Services at the Sydney Adventist Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. Associate Professor Hogg has a particular interest in complex laparoscopic surgery, management of women at high risk of gynaecological cancer, fertility-sparing treatments for gynaecological cancer, the biology of ovarian cancers and multidisciplinary care for women with gynaecological cancer. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and is involved with NSW Health advisory bodies.

Research

Associate Professor Hogg's research interests include laparoscopic surgery for uterine cancer, familial gynaecological cancer, ovarian cancer biology and the treatment of vulval cancer. He is a principal or co-investigator on several NHMRC funded research trials.
