Profile
Stan Sidhu is a Professor in the University of Sydney Endocrine Surgical unit. He has admitting rights to Royal North Shore and Hornsby hospitals, and admitting rights to the Sydney Adventist Hospital. He performs more than 500 endocrine surgical procedures per year, including both open and minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery, laparoscopic and retroperitoneal adrenalectomy and parotid and other salivary gland surgery. He has one of the largest Endocrine Surgical practices in Australia, USA and Europe. He is responsible for training local and overseas Endocrine surgeons in Fellowship positions based at Hornsby and Royal North Shore Hospitals. He serves as the President of Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons.
Research
Professor Sidhu has extensive research interests into clinical outcomes in endocrine surgery and translational and basic science research projects to understand the pathophysiology of endocrine cancers and to determine ways in which targeted therapies can be developed to treat these cancers. He has over 150 peer reviewed publications and serves on the editorial board of the Oncologist and the Annals of Surgery.
