Profile
Dr Allahwala graduated from the University of New South Wales with first class honours and went on to complete his general cardiology and interventional cardiology training at Royal North Shore Hospital. He completed his PhD from the University of Sydney assessing the impact of the coronary collateral circulation and microvascular dysfunction in patients with advanced atherosclerotic disease. He has also spent time on a sabbatical at Hammersmith Hospital at Imperial College London in the UK. Dr Allahwala holds appointments at the San, Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.
Dr Allahwala is a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and convenor of the Masters of Medicine Course. He enjoys playing an active role in training and mentoring junior doctors and medical students.
Research
Dr Allahwala has a strong background in research having published more than 40 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters including in the Oxford textbook of Interventional Cardiology. Dr Allahwala has been invited to present his research at both national and international conferences where he has been awarded with recognition for his cutting edge and novel research.
